Hide AdIt’s not the first time Luke, who curates the spoken word line-ups at Latitude, Festival No 6 and the Edinburgh International Book Festival, has appeared in this district.
Steph Jones welcomed him to Knaresborough as part of her impressive mini-festival Release the Hounds which showed what could be done.
What I Learned From Jonny Bevan is his first theatre show and this biting political fable has been a huge hit where ever it has been performed, from the Edinburgh Fringe to a hit London run.
Directed by another award-winner, Joe Murphy, the show sees Luke Wright play two central characters, a couple of jaded idealists - Nick, a tired music journalist, and his once whip-smart friend Jonny Bevan.
His performance has already been hailed as “stirring”, “a tour de force” and “a one-man This is England” by national critics.
