Popular charity carol concert for Valley Gardens

The girls choir have been perfecting their harmonies ahead of the event which will be held on Friday December 5.

The carol concert will take place at the bandstand of the Valley Gardens.

Now in it’s second year the Harrogate-based charity hope the event’s popularity will continue to grow.

Andy Pierce, events manager at Yorkshire Cancer Research, said: “Last year’s event was an amazing and very moving experience.

“The lighting of the lanterns, along with the beautiful voices of our guest choirs, created a unique atmosphere that really captured the spirit of the festive season.

“We’re looking forward to marking Christmas once again with this very special concert and warmly invite everyone to join us in celebrating and remembering their loved ones.”

The evening will be led by Reverend Guy Donegan-Cross, with actor Mark Charnock, best known for his role as Marlon Dingle on ITV’s Emmerdale as the guest reader.

St Aidan’s Church of England High School Girls’ choir and brass group and Pannal Primary School choir will all perform.

The concert, which will take place from 6.15-7.30pm, is free of charge people can light a lantern in memory or celebration of a loved one for a donation of £10. They will then have the opportunity to take their lantern home.
