The rootsy, semi-acoustic Paul Mirfin Band will launch the video, which included filming in Harrogate, yesterday, Friday, to promote its new single, Hey All.

Paul Mirfin said: “The theme for the video is a boy and girl and other short stories of hard life decisions and escaping their old lives, for example, drug abuse or considering suicide.

“The short stories were filmed in York and Bradford and they meet up in the Pinewoods of Harrogate in the large field which suggests a better life ahead when breathing in the fresh air and look upwards together.”

The band’s new single, which was recorded at Harrogate’s Homefire studios under the strictest Covid regulations, shows more of a rocky Tom Petty/Mumford & Sons influence than on their previous successful releases.

Paul said: “We wrote the song back in October 2019 while on tour in the mountains of Slovenia and had only played it live a couple of times before lockdown paused things.

“When we came to record it, we had to practise our parts individually and go into the studio one at a time, which meant we hadn’t actually played the song together in the same room for nearly five months!”

The film was put together by director/producer Adam Gill.

The video is available now on the Youtube channel The Paul Mirfin Band - and will be on Facebook and other social media platforms from Sunday.
