Ellie Hunzinger (vocals) and Rufus Beckett (guitar and vocals) - aka The Paper Waits - recorded Lights Low at Homefire studios in Harrogate.

As any of the fans who saw Ellie perform with a 45-piece orchestra in St Lawrence Church in York in 2018 or have seen The Paper Waits in action live, the single is dark and romantic and exquisitely performed.

Featuring drums by Michael Turnbull of fellow Harrogate band Litany, the song draws on influences that span from the trip hop era of Portishead to the folk roots Iron & Wine, blending moody vocal harmonies and evocative lyrics with intricate acoustic guitar parts.

Recorded by Homefire supremos John Shepherd and George Tyreman, Lights Low will be released on Friday, November 27.
