One of the best-known music venues in the Harrogate district has become one of the few to start hosting regular live gigs again.

Promoters Ripley Live, who have built up a reputation far and wide for putting on shows at Ripley Town Hall featuring blues and soul legends such as Steve Cropper, The Animals and Georgie Fame, appear to have been doing all the right things to make their concerts Covid-secure.

Brilliant rock-blues singer-guitarist Chantel McGregor performed a "socially distanced" solo concert in the venue's main hall at the beginning of this month - which meant only 60 people were allowed in.

And, in view of the latest Government regulations, organisers have now announced all gig and films at Ripley Town Hall will start at 7.30pm so the venue can close at 10pm.

Despite fears of more lockdowns on their way, Ripley Live have an exciting programme of socially-distanced shows coming up.

Next month will even see it present its first full band gig since the pandemic broke in March.
