Its first classic concert was made available at the end of last year to great acclaim - and a second musical journey down memory lane is now being made available to audiences.

Mr Western said: "Following some wonderful comments from people who had taken up the HSO’s invitation to listen to their June 2019 recorded concert, there was really no other option but to offer another chance to hear some outstanding music performed by our outstanding local musicians.

"It is still not too late to catch up if you missed this opportunity, as a second concert performance from November of 2019 is now available for free."

The new release features a performance by the international violinist Bartosz Woroch playing the Brahms concerto.

Bartosz has performed many times with the HSO and this recording is not one to be missed for classical music enthusiasts.

Bryan Western, said “Bartosz is a very gifted musician, with amazing skills and expressive qualities to rival the top players of the profession.

"It is always a pleasure to be able to play alongside such talent.

"We want our supporters or any who has yet to hear our amazing orchestra, the chance to hear music making at its best: and anything that is able to lift our spirits at the moment should be grabbed by both arms."

As well as the Brahms, digital audiences will be able to listen to Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no. 6: the Pathetique, along with all the recordings from the first free concert.

The HSO, like all local musicians has missed out on the chance to perform during the epidemic, with concerts having to be postponed, but there are hopes it will be able to return to in-person live performances in the latter part of this year.

Its popular Harrogate Christmas Concert in the HCC in December has now been postponed until 2022.

But the orchestra is hoping that the concert programmed for November 27, 2021 in the Royal Hall will be able to take place, having been originally scheduled to take place in March of last year.

Should it go ahead, the soloist will be local celebrity Julian Saphir, playing Shostakovich’s 2nd piano concerto. Also, on the programme will be Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture and Beethoven’s 7th Symphony.

HSO's exciting world premiere of Howard Blake’s The Snowman Symphony will, hopefully, be staged as planned at the Royal Hall on Sunday, December 19, 2021.

Full details will be given in due course.
