White Christmas

On the weekend of Saturday December 17 and Sunday December 18 will be the inaugural Festive at the Frazer weekend.

This will start on the Saturday with the launch of Film at the Frazer, a new community cinema. There will be two films to get people into the festive spirt and those attending either film will be provided with a festive buffet, supported by the Knaresborough Lions. The films are children’s favourite A Nightmare Before Christmas which will start at 11am. The buffet will then be held from 12.15pm to 1.15pm before the classic White Christmas starts at 1.30pm.

On the Sunday starting at 5pm will be Songs and Santa, which will include Christmas songs from two local choirs, the Frazer Theatre’s own Roaming Carollers, songs around the piano and a reading of The Night Before Christmas by Santa Claus. The event is open to all and children are encouraged to come along in their pyjamas or festive costumes.

John Pearce, vice chairman of the Knaresborough Players said, “We’re delighted to add this new festive event to our growing line up at the Frazer Theatre and hope it will provide a great opportunity for old and young in the Knaresborough community to come together and celebrate the Christmas season.”

All events are free to attend but tickets are required. Tickets can be picked up at the Old Chemist Shop, Market Place, Knaresborough or reserved through our online box office by visiting www.frazertheatre.co.uk or by calling 07835 927965.

Film at the Frazer is a new venture by the Knaresborough Players to start running a community cinema at the Frazer Theatre.

This has been made possible by a grant from Harrogate Borough Council’s Small Grants Fund which has paid for a new projector and screen. Councillor Richard Cooper, leader of Harrogate Borough Council said: “We are delighted to have been able to support the Knaresborough Players through the Small Grant Fund. We are keen to help local community groups with projects that are of a real benefit to the community.

“Sometimes these ideas are unable to come to fruition due to a lack of funding, the Small Grants Fund is a fantastic way for the council to support these groups by providing much needed funding and help get their ideas off the ground.”
