Beatles v Stones event in Harrogate
Spirit of 66 is an independently-promoted day of creative events celebrating 1966 - for many the greatest year in rock n roll history and the year Bobby Moore led his team to victory.
The event will begin at RedHouse Originals gallery in Harrogate on Saturday, July 30, 50 years to the day since England’s ultimate sporting triumph.

4.30pm: Exhibition: Classic 1966 music photographs by Gered Mankowitz, who shot the cover of The Rolling Stones’ Between the Buttons album and a million other things plus 1966 World Cup final memorabilia & memories and exciting new contemporary art inspired by 1966.
5.30pm: “The Beatles vs The Stones – First-hand accounts by the people who knew them best”

Hide AdChris Salewicz In Conversation with Dudley Edwards - Face to face with ex-NME’s golden age journalist Chris Salewizc, distinguished music critic.
Chris was senior features writer for the NME during 1975-81 and has produced 15 celebrated music biographies including: Mike & Keith - Parallel Lines; Paul McCartney - The Definitive Biography; Redemption Son - The Ballad of Joe Strummer and Bob Marley - The Untold Story. Chris is a friend of Mick and Keith.
Pop artist Dudley Edwards is the co-founder of legendary 1960s collective BEV (Binder, Edwards & Vaughan), famed for their groundbreaking psychedelic artworks across 'Swinging London'.
During the mid 1960s, Edwards lived with both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, witnessing the writing and recording of the Sgt Pepper's album and notably designing McCartney's famous 'Magic Piano' which he uses on tour to this day.
