Popular thanks partly to its wide and varied programme, its restored main hall is usually pretty full these days thanks to the dedication of its supporters in Knaresborough Players in particular.

From stand-up comedy to rock music, panto to theatre, this historic and intimate little jewel of a venue off the High Street enters 2016 in better health than ever.

Audiences have already enjoyed Frazer Theatre Comedy Club and Little Red Riding Hood panto so far this year.

And there’s a packed line-up of entertaining ahead in the rest of 2016.

Promoter Mike Addison of Frazer Theatre Music is even planning a weekend of live music showcasing local talent with headliner Holly Rose Webber and her band.

Fans of Yorkshire’s literary favourite Alan Bennett can look forward to a show by Library Theatre Touring Company.

They will be presenting two of Bennett’s acclaimed Talking Heads on Friday, February 19.

Saturday, March 12, sees The Counterfeit Sixties bringing that most swinging of era’s biggest hits to Frazer Theatre.

Fans of classic folk-rock-prog from the late 1960s and 1970s can enjoy Acoustic Strawbs on Saturday, March 26.

One of the world’s greatest guitarists and folk artists Martin Carthy appears on Saturday, July 2, while there’s more classic nostalgia with Juke Box Sixties on Saturday, September 17 with the Hollywood Bees.

Later in the year Bob Drury will return on Saturday, October 29 with his blockbusting Neil Diamond tribute, this time called Bob Drury’s Viva Neil Diamond – celebrating 50 years of hits.
