Yorkshire Carnegie and England U20 prop Lewis Boyce rejoins Harrogate

Boyce has been returning from injury and will be available for three weeks until going on England duty for the U20s Six Nations.

He was part of the Harrogate squad which finished fourth in National Two North last season but left due to internation duty prior to the Yorkshire Cup triumph in May.

Aspinall said: “He needs to get some game time under his belt.

“He was a big part of the family last year and the success we had. The boys wouldn’t want him to be loaned out to any other club.

“I imagine he will come back bigger, fitter and nastier than ever from the reports that I have been given. There are no worries about how he is going to turn up.”

Boyce will be available for Harrogate's clash at relegation strugglers Huddersfield this Saturday.

However, centre Luke Edwards is a doubt after injuring his shoulder in the dramatic 13-12 defeat to Leicester Lions on Saturday.

And following that loss – Harrogate's second against the Lions this year - Aspinall did not rule out other changes to his starting 15.

Harrogate thrashed Huddersfield 29-5 at Rudding Lane earlier in the season but Aspinall predicted a more difficult assignment on Saturday.

Aspinall said: “They have lost a lot of games by not that many points and they are going to be scrapping for their lives against us.

“That makes them a dangerous animal so we will need to go there and respect them.”
