OVERNIGHT snow on Friday put paid to much of Saturday’s sporting action.

Following early picth inspections, the two big casualties were Harrogate Town’s home clash with AFC Telford, and Harrogate RUFC’s hosting of National Two North strugglers Manchester.

And down in Starbeck, Harrogate Railway’s Evo-Stik League First Division North contest with Warrington at Station View also bit the dust after a pitch inspection.

Town will hope for better luck on Tuesday, when they welcome derby rivals Guiseley to the CNG Stadium (7.45pm).

But Knaresborough Town did get a game in when they travelled to Ellesmere Port to take on West Kirby in the Northern Counties Senior competition semi-final.

Representing the West Riding County FA, Knaresborough made a good challenge and missed several good chances before succumbing to a 1-0 defeat.
