Pensioner hospitalised after road accident

A PENSIONER is in a serious but stable condition after an accident involving an Asda articulated lorry on Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred on Station Parade at the junction of Robert Street outside Waitrose at 4.28pm.

The 89-year-old was taken to Harrogate District Hospital with a serious leg injury.

Officers want to speak to a man who was wearing a green t-shirt and had earphones in who could have witnessed the incident.
