Rudding Park beat off stiff competition from The Copse at Golf at Goodwood, Kingennie Golf Course and the par-three course at Cowdray to take home the trophy for Best Short Course for its par-three, six-hole Repton Short Course.

This course sits on the resort's 300-acre site alongside the main Hawtree Course, a par-72, 18-hole course.

Marc Rice, Head of Golf at Rudding Park said: “We are thrilled to have won this prestigious national award for Best Golf Short Course.

"Our six-hole, par-three Repton Short Course is a brilliant experience with wide appeal; from those wanting to take their first steps ‘on course’ – supporting our goals to increase inclusivity and accessibility – to regular golfers, who want to fine tune their short game.

"The course also features a replica of the world-famous 17th at Sawgrass, Florida. Playing the same yardage (137 yards) the tee shot plays to an island green and puts emphasis on club selection.

"The test and thrill comes as many of the holes feature water hazards."

Meanwhile, Rudding Park members have also been busy raising money for a charitable cause.

One of the highlights of the club's recent Annual Awards dinner was the presentation of a cheque for the sum of £12,350 to Saint Michael’s Hospice.

The Harrogate-based hospice cares for people in the Harrogate district living with terminal illness and bereavement, and Rudding Park Lady Captain Karen Rutter and Club Captain Andy Hamilton declared themselves "proud" to hand over the funds, which were raised throughout 2025 thanks not just to the generosity of members, but also their families and friends.

“Everyone at the club has worked so hard to support Saint Michael’s this year,” said Hamilton. “We’re so proud to be able to give back to a charity that does so much for our local community.”
