New polo club acquires experienced team coach

NEWLY formed Harrogate Polo Club has announced the appointment of Kieran Sykes as polo team manager.

The club are aiming to play their first match in 18 months’ time

Sykes has extensive experience within the world of polo, playing for a number of years with the Lloyds of London Saddle Club and going on to be a member of Epsom, Guards, Huntwood Park, Palm Beach (USA) and Windsor (AUS) polo clubs.

Kieran was also involved with Tramontana, the most successful British polo team of all time with multiple wins in the Gold Cup, Queens Cup and Polo World Cup.

She has successfully organized a number of charity polo matches including the inaugural Lord Taverner’s Polo Match with HRH Prince Charles and a Riding for the Disabled match with the Sultan of Brunei.

“Kieran is a fantastic addition to Harrogate Polo Club”, said the club’s chief executive Alan Williams.

“It was important that we got on board a team manager with great polo experience and knowledge.

Harrogate Polo Club has ambitious and exciting plans moving forward and Kieran will be a vital member in achieving these goals.”

Williams and co-founder Richard Bradbury set up Harrogate’s first polo club earlier this year.

They have brought a wealth of prestigious sponsors on board and are currently seeking a home ground.
