Linfoot delighted his Honda Racing team with a second place finish in the opening race of the weekend to bolster his hopes of reaching the showdown in the MCE British Superbikes at the end of the season.

A rear grip issue caused Linfoot to drop away from a second podium in race two, as he lost three places in the last five laps to place fifth.

In total, Linfoot collected 31 points from the weekend.

The 27-year-old said: “Thruxton was a much stronger weekend and I’m very happy to have shown some form like we started the year. We brought away an amount of points that should help contribute to getting me back near or into that showdown in two rounds time.

“To take a podium and a pole position really gives me some positives to take away, and I’m now looking forward to Cadwell Park in three weeks time.”
