Dan Linfoot bags crucial points on British Superbikes return

Linfoot gave a strong show on his return to racing at Norfolk-based track Snetterton as he was able to rack up some solid points at the fourth round of the series.

The Knaresborough rider was straight into his groove in qualifying as he set the third quickest time on his Honda.

A confidence-boosting fifth place followed in his first competitive action since April as he held off the attentions of six others in the closing stages.

However, he dropped down the field in the second race as he completed the top 10.

He said: “I managed to qualify in third place on Saturday which really helped my race one chances.

“Finishing fifth was a good result for me so soon after my injury.

The Superbikes year has taken a break over the last month as many of the teams transferred attention to the Isle of Man TT.

That gap allowed Linfoot to recover from his injury, and not fall out of contention for the season-ending shootout.

And, after collecting 17 points at Snetterton, he still feels confident of reaching the season-ending shoot-out.

Linfoot added “My wrist gave me no pain at all while I was on the bike, which was important so that I could focus purely on the track and improving my riding once again after the two-month lay off.

“Seventeen points is a substantial points haul on my first weekend back after my broken wrist, so I am now really looking forward to moving on to Knockhill.”
