Brackenfield school held their inaugural Under 11's Rugby Festival at Knaresborough Rugby Club on Wednesday.

Over 100 children from 8 schools went head to head in the festival, battling it out under the watchful eye of coaches from Yorkshire Carnegie Rugby Club, who offered their expertise between matches.

Head of Games at Brackenfield, Mr Olesqui was delighted with the success of the event. He said: “It was fabulous to welcome so many schools to our first rugby festival. I was really pleased that they participated in the true spirit of the afternoon, learning and developing their rugby skills.”

Players were nominated to receive awards for their play and effort, and the day was rounded off in style as all the players were treated to tickets to the Premiership rugby match, Yorkshire Carnegie v London Irish at Headingley Stadium later in the week.
