The Pythons have played with a renewed vigour, since their move to the Army Foundation College and Rotherham were blown away by a display of open attacking rugby.

Scott Stevenson’s four tries led the way for the Pythons, with Ben Kernoghan, Sam Gibbs, Gareth Bass, Steve Smith, Liam Monaghan, Ivan Drane, John Reah, Jamie Nettleton and Ian Binns also crossing the try-line in the romp.

Ross Fallenstein chipped in with the boot as he kicked six conversions and two penalties.

The Pythons have two more league games remaining and then finish the season with a tour to Budapest.

Having secured promotion at the end of last season, the Harrogate side have now guaranteed a ninth-placed finish as a minimum.

This Saturday they will bid to get one over Stocksbridge, the side directly above them.

A victory in Sheffield could give Pythons a chance to finish seventh on the final day of the campaign when Thornensians arrive at Penny Pot Lane.
