Honda UK belief has Dan Linfoot eyeing 2015 British Superbikes title

Motorcycling star Dan Linfoot wants to become the British champion in 2015 after being snapped up by top team Honda UK for next year’s racing calendar.

Linfoot enjoyed his best season in the MCE British Superbikes championships this year and finished fifth in the championship.

The 26-year-old also claimed his first podium place aboard his Quattro Plant Kawasaki machine, but an but a first Superbikes win remained allusive. However, after moving to the team that won the championship in 2013, he believes his wait to take a chequered flag won’t be long.

“There’s going to be a bit more pressure because the team go to every race to win,” he said. “The aim is to win the championship out right.”

The Honda team are making a return to the sport following a year spent developing a new bike. Alex Lowes won the British Superbikes championship for them in 2013 before the team took a sabbatical year.

Linfoot said: “It was a difficult decision to leave because it has been a great year with the team but you don’t get long in this industry. I have to go as far as I can, as quickly as I can.

“It is a great feeling to have signed for them as they have seen potential in me. I think that both on and off the track we can unlock that and keep progressing.”
