Parry heads to the popular BMW International Open in Munich bidding to reproduce the sort of form that took him into the final two days at Chambers Bay in Washington.

The Munich competition has been kind to the 28-year-old in the past, with a tied-10th place finish following his only previous appearance at the US Open in 2013.

However, he failed to make the cut at the tournament 12 months ago after shooting the highest score by any golfer to complete two rounds.

Parry’s busy start to the summer months continues early next week when he will attempt to qualify for the British Open at the Gailes Links course in Ayr.

Parry could opt for a rest in his schedule, but said he would not want to waste an opportunity to reach a major.

He said: “When I come back from Munich, on the Tuesday I will try and qualify for the British Open and then we go straight to France and then on to Scotland from that.

“It’s going to be a really busy week but it’s the Open is one for me that I really want to play in.

“I would love to get into the field and I would feel gutted if I missed it because I was tired. I have to try to qualify.

“The US Open is great, but I would love to get to the British Open.

“I actually prefer the US Open, because you’re getting on a plane and going somewhere you’ve never been before.

“But for a British golfer, the Open is the one event you want to win.”
