Brown swept his rivals aside to win the ST8TS TGH Dutch Junior Open by five clear shots.

On wrapping up his victory, Tour officials handed him a wildcard into the KLM Open, which will take place at Kennemer Golf Course in Holland in September.

“It’s definitely the biggest success I have had so far,” Brown said.

“The KLM Open will be a really great experience. I am looking forward to it and to learn as much as I can from it.”

Following steady opening rounds of 71 and 70 at the Toxandria Golf Club in Holland, Brown held his nerves together to collect a clean sweep of under par rounds.

A 69 on Saturday was followed up by his most impressive round of the lot on Sunday, where he ascerted his authority on the competition with a four-under 68.

The Bedale golfer shot 16 birdies across the four days, with one eagle on the par five 14th during an up and down second round.

He put his strong showing down to a fine week with both the driver and wedges around the green.

Brown said: “It was a golf course where you needed to hit it straight off the tee and I was hitting the driver really well. I hit the driver as much as I could, even in the final round when I could have got complacent and used my irons just to get myself in play

“It’s quite a nice event to win and I was impressed with how I managed myself. I never got too far ahead of myself.

“I stayed calm and didn’t get side tracked around what others were doing on the course.

“My short game was really good as well. If you have a good short game, it keeps the momentum in your round.”
