Town's National League semi-final, against either Boreham Wood or FC Halifax, on July 25 will be played behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic - but supporters can still get in on the action as the club looks to install hundreds of fan cut-outs.

A spokesman for the club said: "We are offering fans the chance to purchase their own personalised cut out to be positioned inside The CNG Stadium. The cut out fans, which will be in view of the BT Sport cameras, will provide Simon and the team with a vibrant visual atmosphere for our important play-off semi-final.

Town finished the curtailed season in second place behind winners Barrow - their final league position decided on a points-per-game basis. Barrow have now been promoted to League Two, leaving Harrogate to battle it out in the play-offs for the second available promotion spot.

Assistant manager Paul Thirlwell praised the fans for their support over the course of the season: "It will definitely make a difference to see our fans in the stands - albeit cut-out ones!”

"Our fans have been incredible again this season, and I’m sure many of them will continue to support us on our journey, hopefully towards play-off success."

Whilst all the cut-outs will be positioned in prominent positions within the stadium, a lucky few will also make their way into the changing rooms, and beside the dugout.

Six sides qualified for the play-offs, with the teams finishing second and third earning a semi-final home tie on Saturday 25 July against the winners of two matches played the weekend before between sides who were fourth through to seventh. The National League play-off final will be played at Wembley on August 2 behind closed doors.
