The 23-year-old, who has scored twice in 13 appearances since arriving at Wetherby Road, found himself a free agent this summer having progressed all the way through the Bhoys' youth set-up and into their first team.

He was snapped up by Simon Weaver in an attempt to fill the void on the left flank left by Sunderland loanee Jack Diamond's return to Wearside, and despite a bright start, has failed to nail down a regular place in Town's first XI.

"Calvin needs matches and we can't guarantee him them at the moment," the Town boss said.

"He's had some good games for us, he's looked very bright at times, he's got that turn of pace and a great left foot, but with the signings we have made in this transfer window, his chances are going to be limited going forwards.

"We are looking to the future and that means that we have to try and balance the squad both in terms of numbers and finances, so some of the lads have had to go out."

Miller, who was handed his Celtic debut by Brendan Rogers back in 2016 and went on to make five senior appearances at Parkhead, becomes the second Harrogate player to join Notts County on loan in recent weeks.

Tom Walker, also a left-winger, agreed a month-long deal with the National League promotion-hopefuls at the end of November, but returned to North Yorkshire at the turn of the year having turned down the chance to remain at Meadow Lane.

The former Bolton Wanderers attacker is however available for loan once again, Weaver has confirmed.

"Tom has come back to us, but he is available to go out and get some games elsewhere," Harrogate's manager said.

"With a loan, it's got to be right for the player. Notts County wanted Tom to stay with them, he didn't get sent back.

"He did fine there, however the lad made the decision that he wanted to return to us, so now he'll train here and fight for a place."
