The experienced number one featured for the Brewers in Saturday's pre-season friendly at Bridlington Town and has agreed terms.

Speculation about the deal has been rife since Ingham teamed up with Albion's owners i2i Sports as goalkeeping coach following his exit from York City.

He was seen assisting Brewers boss Billy Miller during Albion's pre-season game against a Leeds United XI last month.

Ingham said: "I am delighted to be joining Tadcaster.

"Billy and the boys have made me feel very welcome and I felt it was the right decision to return the welcome back."

The goalkeeper made more than 250 appearances for York and was between the sticks when the club won promotion back to the Football League through the play-offs in 2012.

However, he left after turning down a one-year contract offer from Jackie McNamara following the Minstermen's relegation from League Two last season.

Albion fought off interest from a number of professional clubs to secure Ingham's services for their first assault on Evo-Stik First Division North.

Miller said: "Michael is an outstanding keeper with a huge amount of Football League experience.

"His knowledge and experience will be extremely beneficial to the team. I am sure he will have a big impact on the club and become a fans' favourite."
