The 'Boro boss was incensed by two penalty shouts in the goalless draw against Hull United on Saturday, each one arriving late in its respective half.

Stansfield claimed that defender Sam Cook was hauled back as he went to head Town in front minutes before the half-time break.

A late challenge on flying winger George Eustance was also waved away by the referee to the dismay of the Knaresborough bench.

Stansfield said: “The first one was stone wall and then the second one, the referee never looked like he wanted to give it. He just ran away.

“It's got to a point where I am sick of referee decisions going against us. It's frustrating.

“I feel I can say it now when we're on a run of seven points from three games. It's not just sour grapes.

“Some clubs have a bit more cloud and some clubs are easier to give decisions against.

“Mid-table clubs aspiring to get into the top six just find it difficult to get decisions.”

North Yorkshire rivalries come to a head again this weekend when Knaresborough travel to 11th-placed Selby Town for the clubs' second clash in two weeks.

Knaresborough won the recent home fixture 2-1 but will be without Ben Parkes, Joel Freestone, Blaine Hobson, Graham Whitehead and Callum Rodgers.

Stansfield added: “It's going to be hell for leather again. There's a lot at stake and both teams are in good form.”
