Hemsworth went two points clear of Railway last week following a 1-0 win at Station View. But seven days later, Railway claimed a deserved 3-1 victory to move back ahead.

Hemsworth went in front after 20 minutes when a long punt forward was collected and driven home. But Railway didn’t panic and equalised when Dee Swales curled into the corner.

Railway imposed themselves in the second half and on 68 minutes, Swales turned provider for Emma Elliot to drive in from 10 yards. With minutes left on the clock, Elliott put the game to bed with a fine finish inside the box.

Meanwhile, Wetherby Athletic Ladies continued their league title challenge with an important 3-1 victory against Doncaster Belles.

Doncaster took an early lead after a mix up at the back but Wetherby shook off a poor first five minutes and started to play.

It took 15 minutes for Wetherby to level when excellent link-up play between Marty Petrova and Grace Adams released Debra Slater to clinch her 27th goal of the season.

Wetherby then took the lead on the half hour when Becky Furey powered into the bottom corner and a ferocious header from Helen Hartley extended the lead before the break.

Wetherby keeper Kelly Jackson guided them to victory in the second half with a number of saves, while Slater hit the woodwork at the other end.
