An 83rd-minute goal ensured that Harrogate Town came away with all three points after a nine-goal thriller at Gainsborough Trinity.
A fourth win from their opening five fixtures of the new campaign keeps the men from the CNG Stadium second in the National League North standings and unbeaten in 2017/18.
The hosts led twice in the first half through Ashley Worsfold and Bradley Wells, who found the net either side of Louis Jones’ own goal.
Town then looked to have turned the contest on its head in the first 15 minutes of the second period as a brace from Joe Leesley put the visitors two goals to the good, after Dominic Knowles had made it 2-2.
The introduction of Jonathan Wafula sparked a comeback from Gainsborough, however, and Craig King and Shane Clarke strikes in quick succession made it anyone’s game with just over a quarter of an hour to play.
With seven minutes of normal time remaining, substitute Terry Kennedy ensured his first Town goal would be one to remember as he headed home George Thomson’s corner to seal a dramatic victory.
