Ellis was part of the Guiseley side that won the Conference North play-offs last season.

However, the 29-year-old has decided against making the step up into the newly branded Vanarama National League and left the West Yorkshire outfit at the end of the campaign.

The defender is Simon Weaver’s second signing of the week after former Crewe Alexandra winger Brandon Daniels arrived on Monday.

Ellis will join Matt Bloomer, Dave McGurk and Luke Shiels in battling for a starting berth at centre-back.

The defender spent ten years at Town’s fierce rivals Guiseley after leaving Bradforf City without making a senior appearance.

He linked up with Guiseley in 2005 and spent ten years at the club claiming several honours.

Amongst the silverware collected, Ellis won the West Riding County Cup twice, the Northern Premier League Challenge Cup, the Northern Premier League and the Conference North Play-Offs.
