Thanoj spent two seasons at Alfreton after his release from boyhood club Grimsby Town, where he twice won the young player of the year award.

The midfielder, who was born in Tirana, has scored nine goals since making his debut at Grimsby in the 2010/11 campaign.

He won two caps for Albania's U21 team earlier in his career.

Simon Weaver may entrust Thanoj with the duty to replace Brendon Daniels as Town's set-piece specialist.

The 22-year-old beat Town goalkeeper Peter Crook with a brilliant free-kick from 20 yards in Alfreton's 2-1 win at the CNG Stadium in November.
