Harrogate Town have signed former soapstar Chris Hall to powerhouse their attack next season.

Centre-forward Hall has moved from Conference North rivals Stalybridge Celtic and joins dynamic midfielder Anton Brown and winger Craig Nelthorpe as new arrivals at the CNG.

The 26-year-old, who appeared in Hollyoaks for three months in 2008, started his career at Oldham Athletic before other stints at Bradford Park Avenue, Celtic and Mossley.

Weaver said he earmarked the bustling striker after playing against him a few years ago but the club weren’t in a position to make an offer to take him away from BPA.

“He’s a big strong six foot three centre forward,” he said.

“He’s quick on the turn and has good football awareness.

“That combined with his physical specimen makes him a real threat. He made a fantastic contribution playing on his own for Stalybridge.”

Weaver explained he signed Hall after his attitude impressed him during contract talks.

“I think he’s a bright individual,” added Weaver.

“The challenge for us is to switch him on. He’s an intelligent footballer who doesn’t want a boring time.”

As well as Hollyoaks, the striker has had parts in Grange Hill, Shameless, Spooks and Coronation Street.
