Dominic Knowles continued his fine goalscoring form for Town, giving Simon Weaver’s men the lead after half an hour before the visitors were pegged back minutes before the break.

Shiels second half header means Harrogate have taken nine points from a possible twelve to open the season and sit top of the league before their promotion rivals play tonight.

Lowestoft, Tamworth, Solihull Moors, Stockport and Nuneaton will all be looking to displace Town from top-spot on Tuesday evening.

But Town’s three-match winning streak will have the rest of the division on alert and pondering whether Harrogate can mount a serious promotion push.

The Town faithful were in good voice once again at Curzon last night and will be looking ahead to Saturday’s clash with promotion contenders Tamworth.

Tamworth will be an early season acid-test for Simon Weaver’s men, but with new signings Knowles and Brendon Daniels hitting the goal-trail early, fans will be confident of a fourth consecutive win.
