Here's an assessment of how Simon Weaver's men performed during their 1-0 success at Wetherby Road.

James Belshaw 7 - Made an important one-on-one save from Steffan Payne shortly before half-time and also kept out a James Hanson header at 0-0. Handling was spot on for the most part, though will have been relieved to see Hanson fire over a gaping net when his late punch landed at the Grimsby striker's feet.

Ryan Fallowfield 7 - His recall to the starting XI at right-back meant that Town had that little bit extra going forwards down that side of the field. Provided the one really good delivery of the second period to set up Mark Beck's winning goal.

Will Smith 6 - Found big Hanson an awkward customer aerially and wasn't able to dominate his man like he has done in so many games this season. Still hard to remember him doing much wrong over the course of the 90 minutes, however.

Connor Hall 7 - Such a consistent performer at the back. Had the beating of Payne in the air and on the ground. Looked solid and in control. Made an important block Joe Adams in the last seconds of the contest.

Dan Jones 6 - A very encouraging first start since suffering a nasty groin injury which kept him sidelined for more than two months. Looked confident and comfortable with the ball at his feet and although he played a few too many long passes that didn't come off, this was a decent return. Long throw-ins caused Grimsby a few issues.

Simon Power 6 - Not for the first time in recent weeks he was bright during the opening 45 and worked hard to make things happen down the right flank before fading out of the game a bit after the interval. One cross dropped on top of the cross-bar, while a better one created a good headed opportunity for Aaron Martin.

George Thomson 8 - ADVERTISER STAR MAN. There was one moment when he got caught in possession inside his own half by Idris El Mizouni which led to the Mariners' clearest chance of the game, but apart from that, he was excellent. Produced such a cultured display, on a poor pitch and demonstrated what a fine technician he is. Vision, first-time passing and ability to switch the play all really impressive.

Lloyd Kerry 7 - Picked up where he left off during his substitute appearance against Mansfield in midweek, fully justifying the decision to include him from the start. Was very effective with his work out of possession and also calm on the ball when he had it.

Josh McPake 6 - A bit of a hit-and-miss performance. Showed his undoubted quality with the ball at his feet on a few occasions, but didn't always make the right decisions when in possession. Kept going and kept asking for the ball, however. Such a bobbly playing surface can't make life easy for wingers who want to run at defenders.

Josh March 7 - Another lively showing. So clever with his movement, he always manages to find a way to make things happen in the final third. Saw one stinging volley superbly saved by Jake Eastwood. Less involved in the second period as Town struggled to make an impression in the final third.

Aaron Martin 6 - A decent enough first 45 saw him compete well physically with the visitors' three centre-halves, but having worked so hard for the team in recent weeks it seemed like he ran out of steam in the second half. The ball wasn't sticking up front and he was replaced by Beck.

Mark Beck (on for Martin, 69) 7 - Produced a really intelligent bit of play to get across his marker to meet Fallowfield's cross to net the winning goal. The way he guided his header inside the far post was even better.

Jack Muldoon (on for March, 69) 6 - With Harrogate looking spent as an attacking force, he added some much-needed impetus. Capitalised on some indecision at the back to stab one effort over the bar and would have had a clear run on goal late on if referee Trevor Kettle hadn't awarded Grimsby a soft free-kick.

Warren Burrell (on for Jones, 69) 6 - With Jones struggling with a tight calf, he came on to shore up the left-hand-side as the Mariners enjoyed a spell of late pressure in attempt to salvage a point. Looked solid and did his job.

Josh Falkingham (on for Kerry, 81) N/A.
