AFC Mansfield goalkeeper Jason White scored a penalty as relegated Harrogate Railway conceded a second half lead to lose their opening fixture in NCEL Premier Division at Station View.
White beat opposite number Jake Lofthouse from 12 yards to cancel out Steve Bromley's sublime second half opener.
Substitute Lynton Karkach then stole the points away from Railway with a last minute winner for the visitors.
Railway started well and created their first opening on 16 minutes when Bromley headed Ryan Sharrocks' cross narrowly wide.
AFC Mansfield managed to get the ball in the net first as Gary Bradshaw headed what he thought would be the opening goal, only for the assistant referee to flag him offside.
The former Scarborough Athletic striker had a frustrating afternoon for the away side and saw a penalty saved in the second half.
New Railway right-back Jordan Hendrie conceded the spot-kick but he was spared jail by goalkeeper Jake Lofthouse's flying save.
The save was Lofthouse's second from the penalty spot in three matches for Railway this season.
Railway pressed forward, spurred on by the penalty save and were awarded a free kick soon after, after a clash between Danny Patterson and Chris Ovington in midfield.
Stephen Bromley placed the ball down, 25 yards out from the goal and then unleashed a thunderous shot into the top left-hand corner of Jason White’s goal.
The Bulls pushed forward from the restart and ten minutes later the referee was again pointing to the spot to award them another penalty after Alex Low had brought down Lynton Karkach.
White ran up from his own goal and hit a low, hard striketo Lofthouse’s right.
Railway responded and Ovington had the best of a string of chances, forcing White into a great save low to his left.
But the decisive moment came in injury time following a Railway corner as Lynton Karkach ran past Alex Low into the box and fired past the advancing Lofthouse.
