Harrogate Railway 'unlucky not to come away with three points' from Selby Town trip
Mike Morris felt that Harrogate Railway were “unlucky not to come away with three points” from Saturday’s trip to Selby Town.
The injury-hit Starbeck outfit, who are languishing towards the wrong end of NCEL Division One following a slow start to 2026/27, played out a goalless draw with the Robins at the weekend.

Fourth in the table and unbeaten in all but one of their opening 10 matches in all competitions so far this term, in-form Selby headed into the contest as clear favourites.
But, Railway worked hard to match their hosts over the course of the afternoon and, as far as their assistant manager was concerned, created enough opportunities to have emerged victorious.
“We came with a game-plan and we knew it was going to be tough because the league table doesn’t lie, and Selby are flying at the minute,” Morris said.
"Selby away is always a tough game and we came here to frustrate them and get in amongst them. And we did.
"I thought that the first half was pretty even, but in the second half, I thought that we were the better side.
"We had the most chances in the game, and I think we are quite unlucky not to come away with three points.”
Railway handed a debut to James Hampson at Selby following his arrival from local rivals Knaresborough Town, and he made an immediate impression in the centre of midfield.
"James is exactly the sort of player we need. I thought he was brilliant,” added Morris after Hampson was named man of the match.
"He covered every blade of grass, he was combative in the middle and he won all of his headers.
"He looked good on the ball and he will be a great addition for us going forward.”
