The dual-registered 19-year-old came through the ranks at Huddersfield Town before joining Harrogate Town last summer.

He then made the short journey to Station View in August on a dual-registration deal.

Pells made his Railway debut in the FA Cup preliminary round and went on to make 16 appearances for the club.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, Railway’s campaign in the Evo-Stik First Division North hit the buffers with two postponed games this week.

The home clashes with Warrington Town, on Saturday, and Burscough, on Monday evening, were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

They will hope for better fortunes in the coming days when they are due to travel to Glossop North End on Saturday and entertain Spennymoor Town on Monday.

The challenges posed by fourth-placed Glossop and Spennymoor, in seventh and chasing a spot in the play-offs, will be considerable for a Railway team who are yet to celebrate victory in 2016.

Railway are second-bottom of the league, two points adrift of safety.
