Class of 92 members Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and brothers Phil and Gary Neville assumed control of Salford alongside billionaire Peter Lim earlier this year.

Railway stunned the promotion chasers 4-1 in the reverse fixture, a result which kick-started Railway’s current eight game winning streak.

And boss Billy Miller hopes the Christmas spirit will attract people football supporters from across the area to Station View.

He said: “It will give people the opportunity to see how we have achieved this run of form with no financial commitment. Hopefully we will capture the imagination.

“It’s against my home town club and some of the Class of 92 will travel to see us too.

“It’s a really brave decision by the club but hopefully it will attract a bigger audience and let people see why we have been able to put eight wins together.”

Before Salford turn up, Railway host Spennymoor Town on Saturday, another team Miller expects to be challenging for honours at the end of the season. Spennymoor sit directly below Railway but have played five games fewer.

The Northerners are also unbeaten in five league match

Miller added: “These are two massive matches. We are playing two of the best sides in the league that will be fighting for the title with Darlington.

“Our realistic target is to get two points.

“If we can get four from the two games, it would be a phenomenal achievement.”
