Ebby Nelson-Abby’s first half strike gave the southern hosts victory, and sent Town down to 18th in Vanarama Conference North.

On loan Hull City midfielder Ryan Fallowfield had an appeal for a Town equaliser waved away close to half-time, as the referee adjudged the ball had not crossed the line.

The defeat is Town’s third in a row and leaves them two places above the relegation zone with other teams below them having played fewer matches.

Simon Weaver’s team have now picked up just two points in their last seven league matches.

Meanwhile, Harrogate Railway’s incredible 35-match scoring streak came to an end in a goalless draw at Warrington Town.

Railway dropped to seventh in Evo-Stik First Division North but gained a point on fifth-placed Scarborough Athletic who lost at Ossett Albion.

Harrogate Town academy player Brad Walker netted a hat-trick as Knaresborough Town thrashed Hallam 5-0 away.

Walker, who has only recently stepped up from the club’s reserves, scored the opener before Byron Littlefair doubled the advantage.

Walker completed his hat-trick with two second-half goals before fellow teenager Mitch Hamilton found the net for the 15th time this season to seal the rout.

Boro remain 12th in NCEL Division One.
