Former Premier League player Seb Carole will wear the red of Knaresborough Town again next season as Paul Stansfield pulled off a stellar signing ahead of the new campaign.
Carole returns to Manse Lane after finishing last season registered at NCEL title winners Tadcaster Albion.
The ex-Leeds United player has had three previous spells at Knaresborough and he was part of Brian Davey's set up which won the NCEL League Cup in 2014 – scoring a sublime penalty in the shoot-out at Valley Parade.
Boss Stansfield praised Carole as a “quality” addition and said he would use the forward out wide.
“He is a class act,” said Stansfield, who played alongside Carole during the 2013/14 campaign.

“He can pick a pass in the last third and he can score a goal too. When we thought we might have a sniff of getting him back we knew we had to.”
Carole was on the books of Monaco when reached the French outfit reached the Champions League final in 2004 however he spent the last months of the season at West Ham United on loan.
He returned to England the following season with Brighton and Hove Albion before making 41 appearances for Leeds under Dennis Wise and Gary McAllister between 2006 and 2008.
After settling in Wetherby, Carole has featured for several non league outfits including Guiseley, Harrogate Town and Bradford Park Avenue.
However, appearances were few and far between at Tadcaster last season – despite knocking Knaresborough out of the League Cup in the semi-finals.
Stansfield said there was no concern over the winger's fitness.
The boss said: “He has been in during pre-season and looks fit.
“He's been leading the running drills so there's no worry about his fitness.
“He will play out wide on the wing which I think is his best position and the best position for the team.
“Sometimes there is not enough space in the middle of the park for him and we want to play with width this season.”
Former striker Gary Collier has also returned to Knaresborough after leaving midway through last season to join Selby Town.
The pair join Tom Hesketh, Byron Littlefair, Tom Wollard and Ben Cohen as new recruits for the new campaign.
Proven goalscorer Colin Heath has also impressed Stansfield in pre-season after rejoining Town near the end of last season.
