Do Joe Leesley, Connor Kirby, Tom Walker and Kevin Lokko still have a future at Harrogate Town?

Harrogate Town confirmed their retained list on Friday, releasing eight out-of-contract players in the process.

Goalkeeper Joe Cracknell was the only member of Simon Weaver s squad whose deal was due to expire to be offered an extension at Wetherby Road, meaning that the club will head into 2020/21 with 17 senior professionals on their books.

Of that number, three have been loaned out or are currently on loan having fallen down the pecking order, with at least one more of those players expected to leave North Yorkshire this summer.

Wingers Joe Leesley and Tom Walker, midfielder Connor Kirby and centre-half Kevin Lokko all have a year left to run on their Sulphurites contracts, but Weaver says he will not stand in any of the quartet's way if they wish to move on.

"Joe Leesley still has another year with us but it is looking like he will stay with Boston United for next season," the Town chief told the Harrogate Advertiser.

"Tom Walker has played a lot of games for Stockport. He's enjoying a successful period there, so we'll wait for the season to finish and we'll have a look at his situation.

"Connor Kirby seems to have settled into life in Altrincham very quickly. He decided to bite the bullet and go there and I'm pleased it is working out for him."

On defender Lokko, Weaver added: "Kev is looking for a Southern-based club. He has recently moved to live in Cambridge and he isn't going to want to be making that commute up to Harrogate every day.

"He has no shortage of admirers in the National League, we know that for a fact."

Though all of the aforementioned players still have more than a year to run on their existing deals, Weaver isn't necessarily looking to cash in on them.

"It would obviously depend on the circumstances but I wouldn't necessarily be looking for transfer fees," he said.

"I wouldn't want to block anyone's path to regular football. If there are lads who I'm not intending to pick to play here then I won't put obstacles in their way."
