Harrogate CSC retained the Claro Division One Knockout Cup thanks to a convincing 3-1 win over The Ship at Harrogate Railway.

George Medd opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a superb shot from the corner of the 18 yard area that flew into the net.

Early in the second half Carl Baranovsky was felled in the box and Paul Beesley smashing home the penalty to make it 2-0. Beesley then pounced after Rimmer pulled off a save to knock the ball into the back of the net to make it 3-0. CSC continued to control the game, but The Ship managed a consolation goal with 11 minutes to go. CSC would like to thank Kendall’s Butchers of Skipton Road for their generous sponsorship this season.

SHOWBIZ WHITES exerted revenge over cup final rivals TADCASTER MAGNETS in Division Two on Sunday, needing just a point to secure the title.

They claimed a point from a 1-1 draw to grab the trophy, and deny Magnets, who needed all three points, the crown.

The match was locked at nil-nil by half-time but 20 minutes into the half Tadcaster took the lead. But with five minutes remaining, Matthew Adamson was tripped in the box and Mike Johnson smashed home the spot kick. Captain Shane Kirk lifted the trophy.
