Thirsk Falcons boss George Peirse will decide whether he is going to manage the new Teesside League club next season over the next few days.
Peirse had a meeting with club officials last night to discuss his future.
There had been speculation former boss Kelvin Bainbridge was coming back to the fold. But speaking to the Gazette this week, Bainbridge moved quickly to quash those rumours.
“I’ve had a few texts from the players asking me to come back,” he said.
“But I’m definitely not.”
If Peirse decides to stand down, he will leave the side in good shape.
The Flatts Fielders will come into Teesside Division Two on the back of the Harrogate League double last season.
“A decision will be made in the next few days,” said Peirse.
“At the moment I’m adamant I’m not doing it, but we’ll just have to see. It takes a lot of your time up.
“You’re preparing the side, then there’s training twice a week.
“There’s the lad from Boroughbridge who has done it for 20 years, but he’s an exception.”
Thirsk will be joined next season by Bedale who were also accepted into the Teesside League.
