Ripon ace Jack Laugher has regained his British title with victory in the 3m springboard event in Sheffield.
Laugher was a big favourite to win gold at Ponds Forge and he recorded a score of 489.25 to hold off the challenge of fellow Yorkshire diver Freddie Woodward.
The City of Leeds diver, who won two medals at the European Championships in London last month, had also won the preliminary competition with a score of 440.25.
“It means a lot to regain my title after being forced to miss the National Cup in January because of injury,” said Laugher
“My season has gone well so far.
“I performed well at the European Championships where I won gold and silver and at the world series so I will hopefully be in contention for that selection for Rio next week.”
