Darts: Harrogate and District Arrowmen set knock-out cup alight

A quiet week in the Harrogate & District Darts League did not stop the fireworks in the Knock-out Cup preliminary round.

Three games saw teams chances of silverware this year ended with The Muckles, Starbeck Conservative Club and The Londesboro Club all crashing out..

The two league games in Divisions One and Two also meant November 5 would be one to remember for players.

In a catch up game from earlier in the season Harrogate Railway overcame Slip Inn 5-4. Slip Inn have underperformed so far with only one victory in five matches to sit on a lowly 14 points.

And Railway dealt with the pressure better to secure victory in the final pairs game as Shaun Smith and Jez Davey won in 27 and 20 darts respectively.

Daz Murthick is possibly the proudest captain in the league this week with the Empress claiming their first league win since their return to darts in the area, beating Tap & Spile 7-2.

Division One team Harrogate Conservative Club showed class over second division Muckles in the cup with a 7-0 whitewash.

An all second division cup match saw Bilton Umpires continue their early season good form as they beat Starbeck 5-2 - with Ian Richardson scoring a maximum.

Revenge was the theme of the evening at The Manhattan Club as last week’s league victory for Ian Gibson’s Londesboro Club was overturned in emphatic style.

Dales Captain Rick Harper led his side through to the next round with a 6-1 win, inspired by his own run of 125/180/100 three-dart scores.
