Harrogate CC got back to winning ways in ECB Yorkshire Premier League North courtesy of a comfortable success by the seaside.
George Ross’ men made 236/8 batting first, then dismissed hosts Scarborough for 123 to claim a 113-run victory in glorious sunshine at North Marine Road.
Openers Ross (40) and Jonny Tattersall (66) got the Roosters off to an excellent start, putting on 104 for the first wicket.
Aussie Kallen Bond made it to 26, but the ‘Gate middle-order failed to fire and Scarborough began to take regular wickets, hauling themselves back into the contest in the process.
The visitors found themselves 180/6 with just seven overs remaining, but some explosive late hitting from David Foster - five fours and two sixes in a 27-ball knock of 42 - saw them post a very competitive total in the end.
The Seasiders were hit by the loss of Darren Harland early on as young paceman Jonny MacGregor wasted no time in making his mark.
Two more early wickets for MacGregor (3-23) followed, and Tom Geeson-Brown (1-25) also struck to leave Scarborough reeling at 27/4.
The home side rallied somewhat, but spinner Foster (2-25) bowled 11 consecutive overs with good control from the pavilion end before Ross (3-12) mopped up the tail.
