Harrogate CC’s batsmen chased down a sizeable target to secure a fine eight-wicket win at Hull in ECB Yorkshire Premier League North.

The home side posted 267 all out from their 50 overs, despite three wickets for young ‘Gate paceman Cameron O’Donnell.

In addition, Tom Geeson-Brown and skipper George Ross each claimed a pair of Hull scalps, but the hosts looked to be in a strong position at tea.

The visiting batsmen managed to keep up with the required run-rate of more than five an over, however, Ross carrying his bat and making 82 not out.

Jonny Tattersall weighed in with a quick-fire 66, opener Nick Taylor hit 61 batting higher up the order than usual, and Australian Kallen Bond helped his captain finish the job off with an unbeaten 47.

The Roosters made it to 271/2 inside 44 overs and the maximum-point haul that they earned themselves from Saturday’s clash keeps them fifth in the league standings, 19 points behind leaders Yorkshire Academy with six games remaining in 2017.
