HARROGATE’s Aussie David Orange has landed, and the Brisbane batsman is desperate to hit the ground running when the side begin their Yorkshire Premier League campaign in two weeks.

It may not seem like cricket weather this week, but Orange, right, said he has settled in well in his adopted home for the summer.

“I can’t wait to get out there,” he said.

“The ground looks nice and speaking to the lads the wicket is meant to be one of the best in the league.”

Orange is the recommendation of Yorkshire League record run scorer Dan Wilson who plied his trade at York CC. They both play for the same club side back in Queensland.

First team captain Ryan Bradshaw is looking forward to seeing Orange in cricketing action when the season starts away at Barnsley.

“We thought we’d get David over here early and help him settle in before the pre-season games,” he said.

“Along with with Alex Lilley we’ve made two quality signings there.”

Former Pannal, Knaresborough and Beckwithshaw left-armer Lilley signed for Harrogate last season, but Bradshaw isn’t sure how many games he’ll play with his county career starting to blossom.
