Simon Clemerson will pull on a Harrogate shirt for the first time in 12 years on Saturday after moving back to the St George’s Road club from Bilton.
Clemerson has been snapped up by Harrogate skipper Ryan Bradshaw ahead of a tasty weekend of action for ‘Gate.
Defending champions York visit on Saturday (noon start) in the Yorkshire Premier League.
Then on Sunday, Scarborough head west in the Yorkshire League Cup.
Bradshaw’s new signing will slot in the middle order.
His new skipper has backed him to shine: “Clem’s been thrown in there, but he’s a good character.
“I’m sure he can cope,” he said.
“He’s played at Harrogate before so he knows the place well.
“I want Harrogate-based players at the club, build the team spirit on and off the pitch and get people involved.”
Harrogate were rained off at Castleford last Saturday.
Harrogate hold a nine point cushion Yorkshire League over second placed Barnsley.
