THE long awaited Harrogate Park Run took place last weekend on the Stray.

Even though the wind was ever present it did not deter a good turnout from Nidd Valley Road Runners.

Starting in front of Wedderburn House a three-lap, 5k course skirted the edge of the Stray using a mixture of tarmac and grass.

Amongst a large field of runners the club was led home by Lee Welsby ablely supported by Aimi Blueman, Emma and Mark David, Fiona and Mike Deacon, Helen Gregory, Stuart Hatfield, Allison Iles, Maurice Kelly, Tony Ledweba-Chapman,The Manning Family, Lizzie Medwell,Brian Sherwood and Rebecca Ventress.

Undeterred by the previous day’s activities many Nidd Valley Runners then turned out for their annual Snowball run around the Harrogate Ringway footpath.

Conditions were much more mild this year.

Starting at Conyngham Hal,l as the name suggests the Snowball of runners gathers size as the run progresses with a total of 30 for the final leg from Knox Bridge to Conyngham Hall.
