Nidd Valley visit East Hull for marathon prep

East Yorkshire is proving popular so far this season with a number of NIDD VALLEY ROAD RUNNERS heading over there for marathon preparation.

This time it was the turn of East Hull Harriers for their 20-mile road race that tempted three runners.

Lizzie Medwell was in action again and made it back in 3:22.46 followed in by two fast improving runners Rebecca Ventress 3:29.23 and Aimi Blueman 3:36.01.

The previous day at a St Patrick’s Day-themed parkrun Nidd Valley had some very competitive performances.

Jonathon Easton was first back with a pb of 21.03 only just infront of Rob Snow and Tony Ledwaba-Chapman who tracked each other all the way round for Rob to edge in front with a time of 21.54 to Tony’s 22.00.

Solid performances also came from Brian Sherwood 23.47, Stuart Hatfield with a pb of 25.30 and Sue Reast 29.16.

Earlier in March over at Cleckheaton Christine Holleran took part in the Spen 20, a tough two lap road race, Christine completed the race in 3:05.26.

A little further afield Steve Wakeham was on home soil in Dubai for the Ras Al Khaimeh half marathon.

This was made even tougher with 30 degree temperatures.

Steve ran a couragous race and recorded a pb of 1:59.48
