Yorkshire country pub: Traditional and contemporary style, food & drink at community pub in Boston Spa

The Crown is a community-focussed pub and restaurant in the heart of Boston Spa, just outside Harrogate.
This stylishly updated Grade II Listed building first reopened its doors in May 2021, following a nine year closure and extensive renovation.

Those who love a traditional pub will not be disappointed, as it retained its cosy country-pub feel in the main bar area and tap room and is the perfect spot to relax for a locally brewed pint after work or a seasonal cocktail with friends. Guests now also have a range of more dining options with the contemporary styling of the Green Room, or in the bright and airy conservatory restaurant.
This spacious glass restaurant space makes the most of the views, overlooking the landscaped courtyard garden.
And last year, The Crown, Boston Spa, added to guests’ options by creating a private dining space on the first floor, available for exclusive hire and able to accommodate parties of up to 20. It’s the perfect spot for celebrating a special occasion with private dining, or hosting meetings and conferences too.

Fine food and wine
The kitchen team creates a regularly changing menu, working alongside local suppliers including Sykes House Farm and Hodgson’s Fish.
Whether it’s a boozy brunch, a family lunch, a special occasion or a date night supper, or just coffee and cakes, The Crown’s menu will have something to delight the eyes and the tastebuds, and you’ll find the ideal drink to accompany it behind the bar.
Alongside local draught and cask ales The Crown carries an extensive wine list, and a seasonal cocktail menu.

Food is served from dawn to dark meaning guests can start the day with a freshly cooked full-English breakfast, or perhaps eggs benedict before heading for the hills or settling down to work. Whilst at lunchtime a hot sandwich or a seasonal salad may be the order of the day to keep hunger at bay.
From Monday to Saturday diners will be offered a selection of freshly-prepared seasonal dishes from the pub’s main menu – beer battered haddock and chips perhaps, or a freshly-cooked pizza – whilst on Sunday the restaurant serves up a proper Sunday roast, with meat, roasties, gravy and all the trimmings, with their Yorkshire puddings the crowning glory!
Heart of the community
The choice of activities and social events at The Crown is just as eclectic as the menu. From the more mainstream quiz nights and bingo sessions, to life drawing ‘drink and draw’ classes and food pop-ups, there’s even baby band classes – the cutest pre-school music lessons you’ll ever see!

More, for less
Throughout January customers can enjoy 30 per cent off food on all pre-booked tables, two for £12 cocktails and just £3.50 Amstel all day Monday to Friday.
There are regular offers too from February 1 onwards – such as buy one, get one half price on selected dishes, Monday - Thursday from 12pm. And every Sunday kids eat free with each purchase of an adult main, making eating out even better family value.
